September 24, 2026

  • Added a hex watchlist — tap the star next to “Share this stake” on any hex to get notified when it's claimed or its price changes, with its own Watchlist page (linked from the account menu).
  • Added credit gifting — send credits to another explorer from their profile.
  • Added Detailed Stats to the left-hand menu: % of Earth claimed and purchased, available land/water, and site records (first-ever claim, busiest day, longest streak, total distance traveled by all explorers, unique towns claimed in).
  • Added a distance units toggle (km / miles) in Settings.
  • Changing your username now warns that links you've already shared to your profile will stop working, with an explicit confirm step.
  • Sharing now opens your device's real share sheet (not just a copied link), with proper link previews, and a redesigned Stake Card showing the hex owner's own photo and link.
  • The notification bell now surfaces follows, daily bonuses, referral rewards, and when someone buys a hex out from under you.
  • Added two new daily challenges (100 claims in a day, claiming in 3 different towns in a day), with their own progress popup.
  • Added referral milestone bonuses — extra credits for referring 5 or 10 friends within a rolling 30-day window, stacking with the base reward.
  • Added a first-claim share bonus: 5 free credits for sharing your first claim.
  • Added a satellite view toggle to the map.
  • Purchased hexes now show the owner's actual photo at full size and correct orientation, colored to match free claims (including the Pro color), instead of the earlier tiled/rotated/gold-tinted rendering.
  • Recent claims and purchases now show up together in one activity feed, with avatars.
  • Fixed “First claimed” and related stats (span between hexes, passport stamps) being wrong for high-volume claimers.
  • Redesigned the Credits page's balance display for mobile so large balances no longer overflow.

  • Introduced Credits: buy credits with real money and spend them to purchase any hex on the map — including one someone else already claimed for free.
  • Added a new Credits page with your balance, purchase history, and the ability to personalize purchased hexes with your own photo and link.
  • Added a referral system — your own referral link, a dashboard of who you've referred, and a reward once a friend you referred reaches their 5th claim.
  • Added daily claim-volume credit bonuses; removed weekly challenges and the old points system in favor of ranking by hex count.
  • Redesigned Following into its own page with a map filter to view just one person's hexes, plus global explorer search.
  • Redesigned the Profile, Settings, Pro Area, and Credits page layouts.
  • Hardened billing so a Stripe refund or dispute correctly claws back the credits it paid for.

  • Paginated “Your claims” on profile pages (30 at a time) and fixed the count badge to always show your true total.
  • Translated claim error messages into Spanish and loosened claim rate limits.

  • Added Spanish translation across the whole app, with a language switcher in the login modal and Settings.
  • Made zoomed-out claim markers brighter and bigger; claimed hexes slightly less transparent when zoomed in.
  • Backend groundwork for a future mobile app: bearer-token auth, Expo push notifications, in-app Stripe checkout redirect.
